eCommerce Websites
Online shopping continues to grow year on year regardless of the state of the economy. Last year online sales were the only major growth sector in the UK. Our shopping cart and payment gateways allow you to tap into this market, a market which deliveres a whole new set of customers to you. A completely new and additional revenue stream. So how do you get started? Read on..
Getting Started
You can start selling online with an initial outlay of £360. You will need to open a PayPal account (and/or,
optionally, a Sage Pay or WorldPay account) but we can help with this if you don't feel comfortable with the process. We describe the options and costs in our
Getting Started With Ecommerce page. With the £360 plan you're tied into a £60 per month contract for 12 months, pretty much like a mobile phone contract except that after the 12 months your monthly payments shrink to £30 per month and you can opt-out at anytime. It's cheaper to pay up front, around £980, with no monthly payments thereafter, just the annual hosting fee as with any other web design work.
We think we have caught the important features of our shopping cart below, there are more, it's probably easier to list the things it can't do.. it can't do multi-currency yet, and it can't put the cat out.. here's what it can do..

The Continued Growth of Online Sales
It's been known for some time that online sales keep growing year on year, but surprisingly throughout the current rececession they have continued to grow. If you're a retailer and/or you have a mail order operation but you don't have an eCommerce website then it's fairly safe to say that you are missing out on a very sizeable market.
Sainsbury's, Ocado and Argos have seen online sales increase by up to 27 per cent over the last 12 months, and they are evidence of a change in consumer shopping mentality. This fundamental shift in shopping habits has led many people to say their online experiences are now preferable to those in store across key elements such as value and convenience. Over half of consumers polled believe that high-street retailers could significantly improve their websites and sales processes to "enhance the customer experience".
According to the survey, in the near future 90% of online shoppers will be buying CDs and books online. Thirty per cent more online shoppers will be buying white goods over the internet compared to those doing so today. IMRG and Capgemini have discovered that UK consumers spent £13 billion in the first quarter of 2008, an equivalent of £2,132 for every person in the UK. Shoppers spent over 50% more than the first quarter of 2007.
