SEO Case Study - The Christmas Tree Farm

2010 WAS A RECORD YEAR!
Andrew and Sally tell me they have experienced more sales than ever this year, which gave them more headaches than ever because of the weather disrupting the deliveries. But with their continued presence at number one this online retailer is now a well established market leader and can only go from strength to strength.
Google: 1st!
Typing "real christmas trees" into Google would have given you just under 14 million results in July 2009, and first in the list was our customer The Christmas Tree Farm. Today (December 2010) there are 139 million results, and it's still number one!
This in itself is about as good as it can get, but not only did we put the website there, we also rescued it from being banned by Google. It was banned because a so-called SEO expert company (one of those that send you emails out of the blue) had put some dubious files on the site which got them blacklisted.
Pay-Per-Click Budget Slashed
Sponsored listings (or Adwords as Google calls them) can be effective, but they can also be very expensive to achieve noticeable results. Our client managed their own pay-per-click account and because of the outstanding results in the generic results, they were able to slash their PPC budget whilst at the same time experiencing radically increased online sales.
Online Sales and Sales Enquiries Rocket
Thousands of trees are sold every year via the website to privite individuals all over the country, and from enquiries received via their website, but The Christmas Tree Farm now supply the BBC, Morrissons, Boots, and many other well known organisations. You can see a full list at
